- What is the real estate salesperson's and brokers test like in California?
Let us first discuss the California real estate salesperson test. There are currently seven different tests that are constantly rotated. Each exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. It is not a computer test, it is a scantron, paper and pencil test. The examinee is given three hours and 15 minutes to complete the examination. There is a total of 150 questions which means you can miss 45 questions and still pass the test. You need 105 correct answers.==========The California brokers test is in fact not one test but a set of tests. You take one test in the morning consisting of 100 questions and you take a second test in the afternoon consisting of 100 questions. The examinee is given 2 1/2 hours for the morning test and 2 1/2 hours for the afternoon test. The total questions for the day is 200 and the total time for the day is five hours. You are only allowed to miss 50 questions for the entire day. You need a total of 150 questions correctly answered in order to pass the California brokers test. - I am lousy at arithmetic, should I be concerned if I have trouble with math?
Most instructors and most real estate schools all say the same thing "you can miss all of the arithmetic and still pass the test." Is this true? The answer is, yes. But wouldn't you agree, that it would be much safer to get anywere from half to all of your math correct? Well, if you have not learned math by now, you're not going to learn it by the time you take the state test. So what is the solution? Let us tutor you. If you are taking the salesperson's exam we will cover arithmetic in our six hour module. We will enable you to get anywhere from 1/2 to all of your math correct on your state test. If you are taking the brokers test, we will cover arithmetic in module two. Module two is the second of two six hour modules normally offered on Tuesdays. Do not study arithmetic on your own. It takes too much time.
- What is the best time to be tutored for either the broker or salesperson test?
We use keyword association. Therefore it is best to be tutored as close to the state test as possible. Anywhere from one day, to five days before your test is ideal. One day is best, five days still works. My tutoring is not designed, for you to go home and study what you leared that day. My tutoring is designed to where you remember what you saw, heard and learned in our therapy session. Than taking the state test as soon as possible before you have a chance to forget what you heard and saw. If we tutored you two weeks before your test you would forget what you learned by the time you take your test. The keywords only stay in your conscious mind for a few days.
- Is group or private tutoring better than a one-day or two-day crash, review weekend course?
Yes. You get what you pay for. If you desire results, get involved in my private or group tutoring.
- Why is it that group and private tutoring works so well?
The first reason is we cut to the chase. We don't spend time taking notes that you can't interpret or for that matter ever use again. We zero in on the questions that the DRE will be using when you take your state exam. We focus on what you must know to pass the salesperson or broker state test. The second reason as to why group tutoring works is that we use keyword association. We are convinced that you do not need to understand the questions on the state test in order to find the correct answer.
- How much tutoring will i require for the salesperson test?
We recommend a minimum of two weekend modules if you have had the time and/or discipline to study or if you are skilled at taking test. If a person does not have the time to study or does not want to study and is not skilled at taking test we recommend an additional two to four hours of private tutoring. This works if you want to play it safe. Take the module's and private tutoring as close to the exam as passable.
- How much tutoring (therapy) will I require in order to pass the brokers test?
We recommend a modicum of two six-hour modules as close to your exam date as possible. This works with a person that has had the time and/or discipline to study or if the person is skilled at taking test. You will see more than you need to see in the two six hour modules to pass the broker exam. We designed the two six hour modules so that they will work for some test takers. However the two six hour modules do not work for everyone. Some of us do not have the time to study. Some of us do not have the discipline to force ourselves to study. What is the solution? You may require more tutoring than two six-hour modules affords. Some individuals may require an additional two to four hours of private tutoring. This works for the individuals that want to play it safe. In module one we cover the medium level questions and in module two we cover the extremely difficult questions. We also cover math in module two.

- Do you offer a guarantee with your tutoring?
First of all you don't need a guarantee if you are going to pass the state exam, do you? What is the guarantee? They're not guaranteeing that you will pass the test, no one can do that, now can they? Granted it sounds very appealing, but what they're really saying is that if you don't pass you can spend another long day or two in there program the next time you take your test or some even may offer refunds. Do you want your money back? Do you want to spend more time studying? Do you really want to go though all of that again? No, you want to pass the test don't you? You want to go for quality. Beware of schools that offer so-called guarantees. Guarantees are gimmicks, ingenious schemes or devices to get your money. Go for quality and results not gimmicks don't you!
- How much does group and personal one-on-one Broker tutoring cost?
Are you asking how much will it cost you if Marshall does tutor you, or are you asking how much will it cost you if he does not? First of all, private tutoring is $50 per hour. - What is the best way to study for the salesperson and broker test?
What is the best way to study for the salesperson or broker test is to be tutored by Marshall! A better question is what is the best way to prepare for Marshall's tutoring? This is an important question. The best way to study for the salesperson or broker tutoring is to read the question (do not mark the answer beforehand) read the four ostensible answers, immediately checking to see if you are correct or incorrect. If you are correct, expediently moving on to the next question. If you are not correct, immediately checking to see why you were incorrect, reading the explanation. Sometimes you will understand the explanation and sometimes you will not. In either case, do not spend precious time looking up words, move on to the next question. Do not study math. Do not study vocabulary words. Spend no more than 30 seconds on short questions and no more that 60 seconds on long questions. Marshall law says "It is better to cover a few questions poorly as opposed to mastering only a few". We recommend a minimum of 800 questions for both the broker's test and the salesperson's test. (If you need a source for questions we have a 900 question book, or if you prefer, floppy disk for your computer.) By the way, we said 800 question minimum not maximum. This is easier said than done. You may not believe this, the material is extremely boring and time-consuming.
